Two Partners Among “Top 40 Under 40” in California

Brian Cuneo and John Wilson honored by the Daily Journal for notable corporate and litigation work, respectively.

Silicon Valley corporate partner Brian Cuneo and San Diego environmental and litigation partner John Wilson have been named by the Daily Journal as leading lawyers under the age of 40 in California. The annual “Top 40 Under 40” report highlights lawyers who have developed impressive practices and advised clients on notable matters.

Wilson was recognized for his advice on complex insurance, environmental litigation and bad faith matters. Wilson’s published profile highlighted his lead role in Latham’s representation of Fluor Corporation in a significant court victory in a dispute over insurance coverage for long-tail asbestos claims following a corporate restructuring. In August 2015, the California Supreme Court unanimously ruled in favor of Fluor, overruling its prior decision in a landmark 2003 case. According to the Daily Journal, “The ruling provides security for California businesses wanting to pursue corporate transactions without triggering the loss of needed insurance coverage.”
